[00:00:00] Adam Stott: Hi, everybody. And welcome back to another one of our great success stories. I’m really, really pleased to be here with Izzy, who’s one of our clients that has won our best creativity award. She’s really awesome. I’m really looking forward to hearing a bit more about her story and a bit more about her business and really sharing that with you.
[00:00:20] So Izzy, you’ve won your best creativity award. Do you want to show, show everybody that’s watching? Awesome. And how did that feel? Did you, you know, how’s it, how’s it felt? Well, you’ve been here, you’ve been with us for three days. You entered this award. You stood out in this category. Um, and, and that will become clear over the next, uh, while we’re chatting, how did that actually feel for you?
[00:00:41] Isy Imarni: It felt great to do something that you love and then have. Somebody that’s not related to you, endorse it with an award, it feels great, it’s like an extra layer of validation.
[00:00:53] Adam Stott: Yeah, you know what, from, from, we’ve had a lot of award winners here, a lot of people saying that that’s really helping them with their belief and, and that’s amazing.
[00:01:01] And, and look, obviously, I’d love you to tell us a bit about your business so we can really understand your business, what you do and how you help people.
[00:01:09] Isy Imarni: So, I am all things creative and my background is fashion, I worked in the fashion industry. For about 20 years, and my degree is fashion, but then I, you know, was curious about other industries and other creative industries, so I moved into film and photography, and I now do film photography, and what I call hybrid AI, so I found that AI can enhance what I already do, so it’s not doing the work for me, but I do have a, you know, I’ve got a fashion degree and I’ve got a photography professional diploma, and I just use AI To do those extra things I want to do so I’m at the moment a TV series is going to come out and it is animated with AI.
[00:01:50] Yeah. So I’m able to create all of the characters and the cast and then. With my use of Photoshop and then other tools, I can animate that and turn it into a photorealistic series. So I am really excited about that.
[00:02:02] Adam Stott: And, and I think, you know, that’s one of the reasons that you, you certainly got the award is because you do have that creativity.
[00:02:07] And I love your open mindedness to bring in AI into what you do. You know, AI is just becoming that much stronger in the marketplace, enhancing businesses. And it really will give you, you know, helps you to get that next level. In what you do. So telling us about your business, you’ve been running that business now for some time.
[00:02:26] What’s it been like? There’s a lot of people that are watching and that we’re watching right now that might be in a place of struggle. Perhaps they’ve had some ups and downs. And in terms of there might be at the start phase or right at the beginning phase or the considering startup. What are some of the challenges that you faced on your journey?
[00:02:43] Um, that really you could share with the audience to try and inspire them that no matter where they’re at, You know, to keep pushing forward and getting those new results.
[00:02:52] Isy Imarni: Yeah, I mean, I’ve often thought of putting in my bio, lived experience specialist, because I have overcome many, many struggles. Um, from homelessness, to being a lone parent, putting my child through college, and starting a business, um, it brought all of those things back up again, because you feel sometimes like you’ve jumped off a cliff, but you keep going, and it’s right, getting the right mentorship, and the right support.
[00:03:17] And being honest with yourself about what support you need so that you’ve got kind of that, I guess, security, a little bit of a security net underneath you, but, um, some days have been tough, for sure they have been tough, and it’s things like just, you just suddenly don’t know, and you’re out there, but you’ve got to have a go, because, Otherwise you will never know.
[00:03:40] I think that’s one of the things that I’ve learned is when I look back at where I was, all the stuff I didn’t know, I learned through having a go and so there are days when I’m tempted to be a little bit afraid and moving into new territory and then you remember those times and you think, you know, have a go because otherwise you’re always going to
[00:04:00] Adam Stott: struggle.
[00:04:01] Absolutely. I, I love that. And when you talk about the challenges, you say homelessness and, you know, bringing up a child on your own and I mean, certainly there’s a lot of single parents out there, but probably not, not too many people have experienced homelessness. So knowing that you’ve been through that and you’ve been able to overcome that is certainly something that must give you a lot of confidence about your ability to, to achieve things.
[00:04:23] Would you agree?
[00:04:24] Isy Imarni: Yeah. So I was 17 when I went through all of that and I was seven months pregnant with my son and I was living in a homeless shelter. Wow. Um, but, um, my big thing I tell people is, you can Achieve anything you want if you use your adversities as a springboard and that’s what I did and so now when I have Situations I will think back to that and like if you come if you overcame that you’re gonna be able to get through anything and I try and Turn the positives, turn the negatives into a positive and that’s what’s made me do this journey of I want to create my own TV series, um, how do I do it without waiting years to be noticed?
[00:05:08] Think outside of the box and thought, actually, you’ve got some design skills, you can now use AI that’s there, and don’t be afraid of it, but use it to your advantage, the same as you did when you were a teenager, and you weren’t really sure what you were going to do, etc. So that’s, my, I guess my big thing I would say to people is, change your perspective and use your adversity.
[00:05:30] Adam Stott: Yeah, well, I think that is a really, really inspiring, you know, inspiring set of circumstances that you’ve overcome. So you should be really proud of yourself. And obviously you’ve been here, been with us for three days. What’s it been like for anybody? Obviously, people watching haven’t been to this experience.
[00:05:45] How have
[00:05:46] Isy Imarni: you enjoyed it? It’s been a great environment. What I love is the culture. I think, um, And I’ve been very vocal about this, the culture of the participants of people are genuinely happy when we see success. Yeah, you said that to me, didn’t you? Yeah, I did say that to you. And I mean it, really and truly, that you come in and, you know, everyone’s in different businesses, but they’re all at the same level.
[00:06:08] And then somebody get, you know, got their first bit of big press and it came up on the screen. And you can feel the atmosphere in the room that everyone is happy for you. And it’s like you’ve got Um, a little fan club and a team supporting you and a fan club. And then you’re sitting there anticipating when’s the next bit of good news is going to come.
[00:06:27] And you don’t really care who it’s for, you just want the good news because it feels really great. And that’s what I’ve really loved about this weekend, the culture and being immersed in that. And actually it’s taken some PR away. Because I don’t have many fears, but I came in, as I said to you, with a belief.
[00:06:45] That PR is hard that I know I can create great products. I’ve won awards Um, I’ve won another one this weekend because I like winning awards But it was I could I can I know I can do great product but PR is it’s hard and it’s a you know Something new but I thought I’ll put myself out there. Have a go I’m really glad I came on the retreat and being in that room and witnessing everything that you guys do and what you’ve other people and seeing it come through has been great to be immersed in that culture and to see it live.
[00:07:16] It’s a
[00:07:16] Adam Stott: beautiful place right as well. It’s been, it’s very nice. Yeah. I saw you were at the spa, you were chilling, you were having good chats with Amanda. Weren’t you enjoying yourself and stuff? Yeah. I made some new friends. Yeah. And that’s really nice too. Really nice. So.
[00:07:29] Isy Imarni: And actually friends that are on the same business journey as me because I don’t have much of that outside of here.
[00:07:35] I’m one of the few in my peer group. That’s decided to take the leap and start a business. So it’s really good to have to establish those connections. Establish some connections with people that are on the same journey as
[00:07:46] Adam Stott: you. Yeah, absolutely. And look, you know, fundamentally, what are you excited about for the future?
[00:07:50] Now, having been here, what are the next steps? Where, what are you excited about?
