Good morning, everybody. And welcome back to another episode of Business Growth Secrets. And we’re gonna do something a little bit different here, which hopefully it’s gonna add some big value to you. What I’m going to talk about over the next few weeks is the 10 Essentials of modern business. What I mean by this is, right now, a lot of changes in the marketplace. A lot of technology coming out, a lot of different things that you can do to make your systems, your processes and your business journey overall easier. But a lot of people don’t know where to start. They don’t know what they should be doing, what they shouldn’t be doing. There’s confusion, in a big way around technology, what tech to use, what systems to use, how to put in place and all these different things.
So we’re going to talk a little bit about technology. We’re going to talk a little bit about people and people resources. We’re going to talk a little bit about social media on these 10 Essentials. I’m going to walk you through what things the modern business has in place to save them time, make them more money, and save them more money, because they’re doing things more efficiently. So hopefully, that should add some big value to you.
We’re going to start off with the essential number one. And number one, essentially, I believe that right now, every modern business in 2022 should have in place. And frankly, this is something you should have had in place for a long, long time. But if you haven’t, this is something that you need to be putting in place in your business. And that is number one, social media advertising.
So we’re going to talk a little bit about social media advertising, the different types of advertising you can do. We’re going to talk a little bit about what I feel from a basic beginner basic level, you should be doing up until a more advanced level. They should add some value to you and give you a direction saying that you can put in place for your business. So when we talk about social media advertising, the first thing that probably comes into your mind is where, how, and all of a sudden, we have all these questions. And that’s obviously the problem. And that’s what stops a lot of people from getting started.
So let’s talk about where right now. Now, if you’ve been to a live event with me, or you’ve been following me for some time. While you’ve been on some more webinars, you’ll see that I recommend new start businesses should pick one channel and master that channel. On an ongoing basis, there’s a number of benefits to doing this.
The first benefits of one channel mastery is that you can build an audience and a following in that channel quickly. You can familiarize yourself with all the different features functions, the advertising side of that channel. And that helps you to get much better results much, much quicker. What most businesses do is they’ve been told to be everywhere. So they’re on Facebook, they’re on Instagram, they’re on TikTok, they might be on YouTube. They’ve got all these different channels set up. Really, they’re not using any of them that effectively. What this means is you’re really spending your time in five to six different places.
And that means you have five to six different inboxes to manage five to six different channels to post content. So to come up with content ideas. And some people were like, well, I’ll just use the software and I’ll spray across all the different channels. Well, that doesn’t help because you don’t get any engagement. It’s funny on each channel, it doesn’t look right.
So the best thing to do is to start a business or an early business is pick one channel, get that channel rockin build an audience on it, and then start to really monetize that by generating leads traffic and sales. So what we recommend is once you’ve chosen the channel you will work on how you choose the channel. You just say where. So, my target market, where are my clients where other people want to reach spending their time? Where are they hanging out?
If you decide that that’s Instagram, you’re going to work on Instagram, if you decide that that’s ticked off, you’re going to work on TikTok, if you decide that Facebook, you’re going to work on Facebook, we’re not going to work on all of them to work on all of them, you’ll find that it just burns your time, we will one channel to become a bigger ally in our business. Then as time goes by, and we’ve mastered that channel, then we add a new channel. And by that time, you’ve got more money in the bank, you’ve got more deals happening, you’ve got more cash flow, you can hire other people to help you right. But initially, pick that channel and even you got to pick that channel.
So right we want to master LinkedIn, or whatever channel you want to master. And then the first type of ad that you need to run is you need to run the following ads to your target market. To increase the amount of followers that you’ve got. What this will do is this will allow you to become more well known. So that audience that you want to reach because they’re now following you it will mean the people seeing your content and the right people, you know, your posts, your content, the things you do are the right people, so they’re more likely to engage with it, they’re more likely to make those natural inquiries as well. And that’s the first type of ad you want to run.
So you build up your profile, you build up your social profile. So let’s say you got an Instagram following, or an Instagram page or the Instagram page you’ve got. It’s got 250 followers, it looks like you’re a tiny business, you might be a much bigger business than that, but you look tiny.
So by running a following advertising, what you’re going to do is you’re going to be able to build that following up, where it says 3000 4000 people, whatever it might be, and just invest a little bit of money a few pounds a day, just to get those new people coming in every day, give yourself fresh impetus every single day. That’s the way you start with social media ads, whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, whatever you want to do.
After that, we’re going to need to start running advertising that drive people into a funnel, or drive them to a console call or drive them to a web page where they can buy your product or service. So we’re going to be wanting to run even some traffic ads or some conversion ads. And this will allow you to start getting more leads out of social media don’t want to rely on organic leads you can only get when it comes to organic leads. Well, if you’re really good, and you build a big following, you might be able to get 1020 a week of new inquiries coming in. But you’re never going to get to the point where you’ve got two 300 inquiries coming in.
As you scale and grow, you’re going to need that. So the next stage after you’ve built that following, your page doesn’t look so doing or is to either run traffic advertising, or conversion advertising, where you can start to get or lead generation ads, where you can start to get leads for your business. Now, why am I saying this is essential? Well, it’s essential for your business, because every business is only going to grow in direct proportion to the amount of conversations it has. And if you’re not having conversations with new prospects every day, then unfortunately, your business isn’t going to grow. You can’t rely on recommendations and referrals as a modern business.
Because there’s too much competition, there’s too many choices, too much access, they can pull their phone out, they can access people on Google, they can access people on social media, they can find the service they want, they can find people quickly. And if you’re not out there, generating new leads and new inquiries for your business, you’re gonna find it really, really difficult to grow and scale your business to the legacy you want to grow and scale. So I think right now, for every business, for every modern business, social media advertising is going to be an essential.
Now we look at the different channels, and we look at the benefits and the negatives, the benefits of Facebook. And the reason they should be looking at tests and Facebook ads is because you’ve got billions of people on Facebook, your target market is definitely there. Everybody’s on Facebook, you can reach everybody on Facebook. So it is a very easy platform to use. It does have its struggles with its restrictions and things like that. But it just allows you to get out there and get yourself no leads. If you’re a business, and you’re waiting to launch a product or service. You haven’t launched till you sold that product or service. Or you could wait six 912 months to sell that product or service. We can launch some ads, get some sales based conversations to start selling that product service in a week.
There’s no reason to wait anymore. There’s no reason to drag things out anymore. Not in today’s world in today’s business, you can take yourself for not operating in a week. And I think launching products and services has never been easier. It’s never been easier in human history to go out and launch products or services. So this is something that you want to be really doing and if you don’t know how to do it, get the education on it. Very simple.
We do training on this called Social Media monetization system. But we also do free training where you can come and spend the day with us in either city, local to you, or you can come spend time on Zoom, where we show you the concepts and have a much longer conversation around these things. To start to understand, I show you my ads, show you what I do to build a following, show you what to do to get leads, show you all of that. And it’s all very, very easy and simple to learn.
It’s something that’s essential. Because if your business doesn’t get enough inquiries, if your business doesn’t get enough sales, that will kill your business, or business dies, when it has a lack of cash, right when no cash is coming into the business. And the only reason though cash is coming into the business, because no sales are coming into the business. And no sales are coming into the business because no inquiries are coming into the business. So it’s like that vicious circle, and you’ve got a new start business or a growing business, you have to prioritize client acquisition.
That’s the one thing you got to figure out. Lots of people spend weeks, months and years improving their products, improving their service. So what they spend their time on, where the most important thing they spend their time on is how am I going to get new inquiries for my product or service? How am I going to get myself in meaningful conversations about my product or service, because that’s what’s going to drive their sales and do inquiries for you. And I look, I get it, when you’re starting out or when you’re at the beginning. Sometimes these things can be a little bit overwhelming. But I think you have to look at priorities in business. And as your business grows and you’re a bigger business, then you’ll have this sorted out, you’ll have your client acquisition storage, you’ll have your lead flow soil.
And you’ll be moving more towards working on numbers working on the return on investment side of it. But when you’re at the start, the most important thing is getting new leads and getting new business. And the easiest way to do that is via social media ads, or advertising. In some formats, even if it’s Google, PPC doesn’t matter on social media, whether it’s PPC, whether it’s YouTube ads, whatever you do, you have to go out there and start creating awareness and getting inquiries for your product or service. So it’s essential number one.
Tomorrow, we’re going to talk about what.. I’ll say tomorrow, you might hear the episode a few days later, tomorrow, we’re going to talk about central habits. So then all the way through to number 10. I feel that if you really listen to these 10 episodes, it should give you some more clarity, it should give you some more direction, and perhaps will allow you to see some of the things that you’ve been missing, some of the things you’ve maybe not got in place already. On tomorrow’s episode or the next episode, you’ll hear the essential number two is going to be automation. And we’re going to talk about how to start to automate some of your tasks even if you’ve never done it before, even if you don’t know what you’re doing, even if you haven’t started and give you some clarity around that.
Because really, for me in the modern day, that’s an essential that every business also needs. So if you enjoyed that episode today, I look forward to catching you on the next one, where we talked about essential number two, which is automation.
