[00:00:00] Adam Stott: Why you need a podcast for your business and brand in 2025 I’m going to walk you through in this video how you can go from unknown to well known podcaster just like I have doing over 420 episodes. Of my podcast, business growth secrets.

[00:00:28] I’m going to share the secrets and take you behind the scenes of how I’ve secured millionaires, billionaires, and A listers for my show and how you can follow my processes to do exactly the same. We’re going all in on this video. I really mean it. I’m going to walk you through the process for creation, how to actually create your show, the very first steps and every part that you need to get started.

[00:00:58] I’m going to talk to you about how to build the relationships with the high profile people that you need to take you all the way to the top. I’m then going to share with you the first step. I’ve used in all 400 plus interviews that I’ve done with millionaires, billionaires, and a listers, which you can literally cut, pay, swipe and deploy into your business before showing you how to then leverage that for relationships for the longterm.

[00:01:24] to create long term success so you can monetize, get more leads, get more sales, build your brand, and go all the way to the top. Get strapped in. This video is going to give you everything you need to succeed in 2025. So let’s jump in right now into how you can start building your podcast. So some of you that are watching and listening right now might have had Thoughts in the past about starting your own podcast and perhaps when you’ve had those thoughts, you might have also had some fears come up.

[00:01:53] So you might have said to yourself, yeah, but you know, I don’t know how to do the technology. And perhaps you said to yourself, will anybody listen or whatever might have held you back in the past. And when I take you all the way back to 2016, when I started on exactly that journey, I had some of those thoughts and feelings too.

[00:02:13] And I wanted to. And the reason I wanted to start a show is in my mind, I felt like if I could get my message out there, that would resonate with more people, create better relationships, and really get my brand to grow. Cause I just started in 2016, a coaching business, which was big business events. I’d had a lot of success in business.

[00:02:33] I’d had some huge ups. I’d had some downs and I had a lot to share about how people could build businesses and grow businesses. And at that point, it was on my second eight. figure business. And I wanted to share those different lessons. What I found out very, very quickly is despite having lots of experience and despite wanting to go and make an impact to make a difference, not many people were receiving the message.

[00:02:57] And there was one thing that was missing, just one thing. And that’s why I wasn’t being received. And that was, I didn’t have the brand. And there’s a lot of people that I’m sure will be watching right now that want to go out, want to make more money. Perhaps you’re a coach, a consultant, service based business, and you want to get yourself out there, but you don’t quite know how.

[00:03:16] There also could be some people out there that maybe are wanting to start something, don’t know what to start, don’t know how to get going and are struggling to put the pieces of the puzzle together. You know, wherever you’re starting from, I want you to let you know I’ve been there at the beginning of businesses.

[00:03:31] I’ve been there at the beginning of putting yourself out there, and I understand the struggle. So what did I do initially? Well, back in 2016, I started this show, and the show that I started back then was actually called The Big Plan.

[00:03:50] And the reason that I’m sharing this with you and writing this up gear now is because one of the key principles to building a brand, getting started, getting yourself out there is to understand where you start is not necessarily where you end. In fact, the big business show. was the first show I’d ever done.

[00:04:10] I was and I remember actually the first interview I ever did. I went over to one of my clients over in Birmingham. I sat down with him and I did an interview with a friend of his. He knew that was a really good marketer called Leon. And I remember sitting down for the first time and Leon was sitting there.

[00:04:25] I was interviewing him and I was doing this show and Leon just sort of kind of said, yeah, Adam, remember to smile. And I remember feeling really awkward in that moment. And I kind of get what it, what it’s like and, and how it feels to put yourself out there and feel really awkward about it. But like I’ve said to many of our clients, what’s really important is the first one you ever do.

[00:04:45] Is going to be the worst one you ever do. So you can start in five years or you can start right now and get that out of the way. And that’s what I did there. And then we’ve Leon on that first ever big business show back in 2016. And if you dig deep enough on the YouTube channel, you’ll be able to find that.

[00:05:04] And it was a very, very awkward first start to creating a show. What did I do next? Well, I took that first interview that I did with Leon, which is me not smiling. Leon was smiling. I wasn’t. And I put took that interview and I put that interview out on YouTube. So I used YouTube initially as the channel to get started.

[00:05:27] And then I went and I found other people to interview. So after I’ve done Leon, I took the interview that I’ve done with Leon and I said to a couple of people locally, Hey, Now I’ve got my smile on. Would you like to come and be interviewed as well? And I started to go and get more interviews. These started off with people that were not a high profile.

[00:05:45] In fact, the second one I ever did was a local business development manager called Mick Hull. You know, great, great guy, but never done any podcast, never put himself out there. And it all started very, very slowly. But when I did that interview with Mick, Who’s a great guy. He said, Hey, Adam, would you like to interview now that you’ve done my interview, would you like to interview someone I know really well?

[00:06:08] Cause I’ve been in the boxing world with him, Barry Hunt. I said, Oh, I’d love to do that. You know, that was something that I thought would be pretty incredible. So Nick set me up with Barry Hearn. And that was my first big break in, in the interview world. And I went on to do Barry Hearn later on because of the connections that were made there.

[00:06:25] I’ve got to do interviews with people like Floyd Mayweather, Anthony Joshua, and all of a sudden it just started building up and I got bigger and bigger and bigger names. The big business show morphed. Which is what I wanted to mention. It morphed into something called Business Growth Secrets, which is the podcast that I have today that we’ve done over 420 episodes.

[00:06:50] And I’ve had some massive, massive wins over the period of time with Business Growth Secrets. And the reason I’m making this video today, whether you are watching or you’re listening on the podcast is because Anybody can go from unknown to well known using podcasts to build brand. And this year, 2025, we want to make sure that we make the biggest impact we possibly can.

[00:07:18] And if you look at your competitors, they’re not doing this. Especially if you’re in a standard business, they’re not doing this. They’re not getting themselves out there. And there are some unique advantages that you can use to get your massive results. So in this video, I want you to take on board some of the concepts and ideas that I’m going to walk you through.

[00:07:36] I’m going to talk about the four steps to creating your podcast from a standing start. I’m going to talk to you about why you would want to do this, which we’re going to jump into in just a moment, because it’s incredibly powerful, the upside. So you can start to Get more brand, get more leads, get more sales and get more clients.

[00:07:54] Hey everyone, hope you’re enjoying the podcast. We’ve got a free training that I’m doing right now online from the comfort of your own home called Stand Out Brand. What this does is it shows business owners how to get noticed on social media, stand out, get more leads and get more sales. So if you want to make more money in your business, head over to adamstop.

[00:08:15] com. Dot com slash sob. That’s adam.com/sob and join us on the free three day workshop, standout brand. So I’m sure there’s many of you that are watching that would like more sales. You would like more. Clients, you’d like to build a bigger brand, but that’s not the only upside that comes in content creation.

[00:08:39] It’s not the only upside that comes with creating your own podcast. And I’m sure that you may even be, as we’re talking about this, getting different ideas pop up. And usually what happens is people get very, very lost in the minutia. They get lost in the details, like, well, how long should my podcast be, Adam?

[00:08:56] And, you know, uh, if I do a podcast, should I do it on YouTube? You said you started on YouTube a minute ago. Or should I do it on iTunes? If I did do it on iTunes, how would I do it on iTunes? What kind of technology I would use? And have all these different questions come up into your mind. But what we call this is the transactional.

[00:09:13] I want to first call your attention to the transformational. So what’s the difference between transactional and transformational? Transactional is all the mini detail. The transformational is the big picture. So stay with me here as I talk to you about the big picture of why you need to get that podcast going and what impact it’s going to have for you.

[00:09:33] So there’s a few massive reasons. The first one being, as we’ve mentioned already, brand building. Brand building.

[00:09:46] So this is huge for you and your business because when you have a podcast that you are building and you’re getting out to the market, you have something your other competitors don’t have. You have your own show. What that does is that instantly increases your credibility. And guess people to take you more seriously.

[00:10:06] What’s more important than that is it opens doors for you. So there are people that you might want to reach in your industry. There are people you might want to connect with. You might want to get to know. That you’d never be able to connect with. You’d never be able to get to know, but now you have your own show.

[00:10:22] What you’ve done is elevated your status and you’ve got the ability to open doors, which gets us to the second point of why you want to get your own show up and running is number two, the relationships that it creates. So this is for me actually been the biggest thing. Yes, we have. done 420 episodes of business growth secrets.

[00:10:43] Yes, our clients love it. We have created millions of pounds of sales from that podcast through building relationships and people nurturing and going on to buy products and services. What’s more important than any of this for me is the relationships that I’ve built, the people that I’ve been able to meet, the relationships I’ve been able to develop.

[00:11:02] And I’ve met so many different people. When I look at how that’s transpired, I’ve been able to get hundreds of world class guests to come to my coaching program and spend time with my clients. For example, Mr. Motivator, who’s been on the podcast, came to meet my clients, Sarah Willingham, Who is went on to become my mentor, a dragon.

[00:11:24] There’s been an incredible guest that many of my gold circle events also originated from the podcast. I’ve had people like Sadie Frost, Kelly Hoppen, another dragon. I’ve had Floyd Mayweather on my podcast and hundreds of more. That I never would have been able to get to know, build a relationship with, and get access to.

[00:11:42] Now what this does, these relationships, is it allows me, as an individual, to learn. It allows me to get close to people doing hundreds of millions, I’ve even had billionaires on there, like John Caldwell. Um, only 46 of those in the UK and I’ve got literally an hour to pick John Caldwell’s brain about everything to do with business.

[00:12:01] How cool is that? You know, so I get to learn from those relationships as well as really, really discover what makes them tick. And you know how I can learn lessons from them, essentially, which is really cool. And those relationships have gone on to become. Business deals, business opportunities. They have referred me to other people.

[00:12:20] They’ve, they’ve gone on to do multiple different things together. So it’s very, very powerful. Now, the third reason that you want to do this is you get to do something that your competitors and other people don’t get to do, which is going to help you massively to create more exposure and you get to find your voice.

[00:12:41] Not only do you get to find your voice and I’ll explain what that is in a moment, you get to find your voice in a really safe, secure way where you’re in control and you get to avoid a lot of the things that people don’t do for a reason, which is they don’t create content. They don’t want to be criticized.

[00:12:58] I don’t want people to say bad things about them. They don’t want to put themselves out there for fear of being rejected or have people go, Oh, you know. They’re not very good at this, and they get judged, and they hate all that stuff. Well, when you create a podcast, you don’t have to do that. You’re the host.

[00:13:13] You’re asking somebody else questions. And when you ask that other person questions, even if you ask the questions really badly, It doesn’t even really matter. You actually get to practice with people asking questions, getting into that flow, which builds your confidence. All of a sudden you’ll be directly seeing what superstars, really great people, how they respond to being asked questions, how they respond to smiling on camera.

[00:13:38] Remember when I did it all those years ago, first guest I ever, ever spoke to gave me that little nudge saying, make sure you smile. You know, I remember that to this day, you know, I’ve now done. Thousands and thousands and thousands of hours of creation, content creation, which podcast YouTube videos where that’s training for our clients, et cetera.

[00:13:58] But I still remember that little nudge that I got back then. And I’ve learned lessons from all the different guests that I’ve had over the years that have really helped me to craft my presenting skills that helped to build my confidence. And it can do the same for you too. Now the fourth reason if that wasn’t enough would be That you get masses of content from your podcast.

[00:14:23] And I know what some of you may be thinking. You’re like, okay, can we get into the specifics? And we’re going to get into that detail. Where should you host your podcast? What are the steps of the podcast? But first of all, I wanted to address these parts, which is super important. And finding masses of content.

[00:14:39] This is going to save you a lot of time. Now, one of the strategies that I teach our clients, which is really cool, Is this which is another huge reason why you want to get a podcast in play for you and your business. It gives you what we call umbrella content and you’re going to love this, right? So how does umbrella content work?

[00:15:00] Well, if you imagine that we’ve got a lovely little umbrella here and we’ll even give it a little candy stick here as well, right? Whatever that might be. Very good at drawing umbrellas, as you can see. And we look at this as an umbrella here, right? Now, this umbrella, when it rains, there’s lots of rain, the umbrella rains and drips down in these different areas.

[00:15:30] And we use the podcast up here, and this becomes our weather cloud, is the podcast, which creates the rain. Well, what is this down here? This is Facebook. And this is your Facebook Reels. You can also use it for Facebook ads. And when you create your podcast, we can just cut it up. And it’s going to rain down to your Facebook profile.

[00:15:54] So we’ve got one headline piece that is the cloud, the content cloud that rains down over everything else. So first of all, we’ve got the content cloud raining to Facebook. We can then use this on Instagram as well. We can use this on YouTube shorts. Of course we can use this on LinkedIn. And all the other social media platforms that just allow us to go and, you know, get ourselves out there.

[00:16:21] And guess what? Now you haven’t got to create content for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 platforms. All you’ve got to do is you’ve got to create it once. You’ve got to allow it to rain down on you. into your other platforms and you got that one piece. So this is another powerful reason for why you want to get that podcast set up.

[00:16:40] So now we know why we know what benefits it’s going to bring to you. Shall we get into the how, and if you’re loving this, by the way, Make sure that you mention in the comments, if you’re going to be taking action, if this is going to be the thing that gets you going and finally takes action and gets you to go and make it happen, we’d be really, really pleased to hear it.

[00:16:59] So go over to the comments and tell us and ask your questions as well, because if you’ve ever wanted a part two for this video, where we get deeper into the detail, go and put part two in there too, so we can really help you to take those next levels. Now, now we know these bits, but How do we actually do it?

[00:17:14] Well, there’s four elements that we really need to consider, just four, and we’re going to jump into those four elements right now so we can understand what the steps and the moves are. So what are the four steps? Well, step number one, simply is the creation. And some of you might be at this step where you haven’t created anything yet.

[00:17:36] And we’re going to give you some tips and strategies to get that done very, very quickly. And if you’re at the creation stage, then you can go over to the comments. Tell us you’re at the creation stage because, you know, I’d love this, this video that we’ve recorded here to be responsible for you. going and getting started and creating that would be pretty awesome.

[00:17:56] You might not be at the creation stage. You might have your podcast and you might have your setup done already. And that’s why you’re watching this and you’re moving to the next stage, which is relation. So relation is how do we build the relationship capital, get higher profile guests, get yourself out there, building relationships with the audience.

[00:18:17] And we’re going to come to that shortly as well. You could be even doing quite well on that. And maybe you just need some refining on your process, which is the actual process that you take people through on the podcast, which I’m also going to give you some mega tips on that, too. So you really understand how to do that.

[00:18:35] Or perhaps. You’re at the post stage where you’ve created, you’ve got relationships happening, you’ve got a process that you’re using, but you need to know how to skyrocket the amount of people that are actually watching it and grow your podcast. We’re going to cover all four of those steps right now. So let’s jump into creation.

[00:18:55] How do you actually go and get started? And here’s one that we prepared earlier for you. on creation. Well, the first step is you need a name. You need a name of your podcast. And guess what? Most people overthink this. Most people were like, Oh, I was with you, Adam. So he said, I’ve got to come up with a name.

[00:19:17] You know, it’s like all of a sudden people going to meltdown, they want the perfect name. They want, they think that the name is going to do everything and it’s going to make the difference. The reality is you can call it whatever you want, where you get value is from coming up and having your own show.

[00:19:35] And you build your authority from having your own show. So as you call it something sensible, it doesn’t really matter what the name is. All you got to do. And I’ll just give you some basic tips on the name. It’s just say what you plan to do on the podcast. So for example, the name of my podcast is business growth secrets.

[00:19:54] Really simple. Why? Because what we talk about is business. We talk about growing businesses and we put secrets on the end because we give people secrets. Secrets of how to grow businesses. Prior, um, my first ever show was called The Big Business Show. I then had another show called Wealth Life, uh, TV, and we’ve done lots of different names over the years.

[00:20:12] I think the most important thing to realize is it doesn’t really matter. You know, where you start is not necessarily where you end. I’ve seen it many times where somebody’s got their podcast started, they’ve got it going, and later on, they’ve It felt like the name didn’t fit 100%. You can change it. It’s no big deal.

[00:20:28] Don’t let let that be a barrier to you actually starting. Now we run an event called the Branded Retreat where I’ve branded businesses. I’ve helped them do this in the room and we have seen people freeze when it comes to coming up with a name. You know, you could just go on your chat GPT and say come up with 20 podcast names for me.

[00:20:47] I’m doing that because I’m voice noting it, you know, is as I’m talking it. And literally, you’ll get 20 names. Pick the one you like the best and just crack on. You know, that’s actually a really easy thing for you to do. And then you can just go and check the availability of that. You can go on 123reg and you can go and get the domain name as well.

[00:21:05] Because the name that you come up with, we might want a website for this later down the line. So come up your name, go 123reg, check that domain is available, and then you are golden. You can go and crack on. You can also go and look at, say, iTunes and Spotify, search the podcast there, just check that you haven’t got the name of somebody else, and you can get going.

[00:21:25] So very simple, that is one down with no problem. Secondly, which very much links to the name, Is you’ve got to have a topic. I’ve just told you that mine is business growth secrets. Your topic that you want to come up with is just something that you know. So this is the cool bit. You even must know it or alternatively, you don’t necessarily even need to know it.

[00:21:47] You might not even be the expert on it. But you want to know it, so you’re deeply interested in it. And that’s the cool thing about having your own podcast. You don’t need to be the expert in the beginning. That’s the whole point. 420 episodes later and I’ve gained many, many, many extra pieces of knowledge, the relationships and all those cool stuff that I’ve talked to you about.

[00:22:10] You know, imagine that you decided you want to do a podcast on AI, for example, you might not know much about AI now, but if you went out and interviewed 420 experts on AI over the next three years, do you think you might know a bit more than the average person? You absolutely would. And you’re building that expertise step by step.

[00:22:29] So one or two things. Pick a topic that you know well, or alternatively, pick a topic that you’re really interested in. This is the cool thing on the interested part. If you’re interested, you’re going to be asking the type of questions, the simple questions, that other people that are also interested want to know.

[00:22:50] Sometimes you can go on to these experts and everything’s complicated, everything’s overthought, they’re talking in jargon and technobabble, but your question’s going to be very simple. Okay, well when it comes to AI, how does that work? And you’re actually going to ask the expert something that gets them to explain it in a simple way.

[00:23:06] And when they go, bah bah bah bah bah bah bah, then you just turn around and say to her, well, could you just explain what that means as if someone that was 15 years old was listening to this. And all of a sudden you get a really, really, really simple explanation. So don’t let that stop you. You don’t need to be an expert.

[00:23:21] So you get your name, you get your topic. Now, another thing that we want to do here, and this is kind of the set up part before you actually go, you know, because many people want to know, well, yeah, but Adam, where do I host it? What do I do? Should I do YouTube? Should I do this? Should I do that? And we’ll come to that in a minute.

[00:23:36] But before we even get there, I want to take you through this step by step so you can get really, really fast results and get going from watching this video. And the next part, you need to know who’s the listener. So what you want is you want an identity. For this listener and the re and what that means is if I said to you, are you a football fan?

[00:23:56] You either are a football fan or you’re not a football fan And if you are you can tell me in the comments football fan and if you’re not a football fan You’re not but if I said to you attention football fans Those of you that are, go, yeah, I’m a football fan. What are you, what are you talking about? If I said to you, attention, brides to be, you know that you’re a bride to be or you’re not a bride to be.

[00:24:16] If I said to you, attention, mums, you know you’re a mum or you’re not a mum. I say attention, dad, you know you’re a dad, not a dad. So you just want an identity. So when you start marketing this podcast and you start putting the word out there, you And you start bringing these experts on, you can say, Hey, this podcast is for dads, you know, whatever it is, this podcast is for brides to be, this podcast is for AI, people want to use AI in business, whatever it is, you’ve got the identity now.

[00:24:44] And that really helps you because you understand who’s listening. And then you can tailor the content for the listener. So for example, let’s say you went for your brides to be, you wouldn’t talk about well, what happens 20 years down the line, you You’re talking about what’s happening, building up to the wedding.

[00:24:59] You know, what are you considering? What are the different things you’re doing? And now it becomes really relevant to the target market, everything that you’re talking about. And hopefully you’re getting this and, and that’s all making sense to you. Next, you need a message for that identity. Just need a clear message that speaks to the people that are listening.

[00:25:19] So for example, our message is, We help you grow your business. It’s a very clear message. Why do you listen to this podcast? Why do you want to be on it? Because we’re going to help you grow your business. And if you don’t want to grow your business, probably best that you don’t listen, right? It’s not for you.

[00:25:38] And that’s okay. By the way, because whatever you create won’t be for everybody. Some people are going to love you. Some people are going to hate you. You know, you take the best and you leave the rest very, very simple, but you want to make sure that you’ve got a clear message and that message should just clearly demonstrate, you know, what is in it for that person to listen?

[00:25:56] Because the most important question people are going to be asking is what’s in it for me? So you want to get that across and that’ll be super helpful for you, for you and your podcast. Now we get to the bit that you want. Well, what do we do on the setup? And this is where these different questions will be coming up.

[00:26:13] Now this would be my advice to you, I’m just going to give you candid, direct advice based on my experience of having a YouTube channel since 2016. You might be watching me on YouTube now, you might be listening to me on the podcast now, and I’m going to cover that off so you understand, you know, why that’s relevant.

[00:26:31] But wherever you’re watching or listening, if you are a beginner, I would tell you to start with audio only. I think an audio only podcast is really easy. It’s a great way for you to find your voice. You don’t need to worry about what you look like, what the colors are like. You don’t need to worry about what cameras you’ve got.

[00:26:53] All of this kind of stuff. You’ve only got one thing to take care of and that is just does it sound okay? You know, is the sound quality right? Now, when you’re starting on this journey, you know, as you get more advanced, it just becomes so much to focus on. If you start audio only, you just made your life so much easier.

[00:27:11] So, for a beginner, the setup that I would suggest, and we’ll probably go to another page here for this, you know, to give you some, some really, um, simple advice. So, the setup that we use for my podcast, Business Growth Secrets, is we use Libsyn.

[00:27:34] Which is a really simple podcast software that allows us to upload our podcast and distribute them to Spotify, to iTunes, to Stitcher, to Podbean, to everywhere. It literally just allows us to go and place one podcast, one audio file and spread it out to all the other audio elements. Now when we talk about brand here.

[00:27:58] You being featured on iTunes is good for your brand. You being featured on Spotify is good for your brand. And using something like Libsyn allows you to spread out and go everywhere. Now, you don’t have to use Libsyn. You know, you could go to Spotify direct, you go to iTunes direct, these different things, but it doesn’t go everywhere.

[00:28:17] If you use something like Libsyn, you get that effect where you get to upload it in one place. And it goes to several. Now there are other softwares out there like that. We are in no way affiliated to Libsyn. I’m just literally telling you that’s what we’ve used. That’s what we’ve used from the beginning.

[00:28:34] It’s a good one. Do your own research and due diligence around who you want to use. But you can know from me, 420 episodes in. I’m really happy. The statistics are really cool. You get lots of good stats on the listeners, et cetera, et cetera, with those guys. So if you do Libsyn or you do another thing like that, you just literally take your audio file that you create, you put it into that infrastructure, and then you get featured in these different areas.

[00:29:03] And you know, that’s how simple it is. If you choose to do a non audio and you actually want to do a YouTube one, then you can go and create your own YouTube channel. Just bear in mind now you’ve got the sound needs to be right, the look needs to be right, and if you are a beginner and you’re on limited funds and you haven’t got large amounts to invest, or you haven’t got large amounts of time, my initial recommendation would you do the setup as just audio only, which is what I would suggest to you at the beginning.

[00:29:35] So what we chose to do next, which is, you know, going all the way back, and we’ve done it since 2016, we still do it to this day with the podcast, is that we use a freelancer.

[00:29:49] To do all of the uploads, all of the edits. So they do the edit, they put the sound on there, they do the sound edit, and they upload it to Livesy, which gets distributed. Now, I found our freelancer on online jobs

[00:30:11] pH. Now there is a subscription for that. But if you don’t want to go to onlinejobs. ph, you can just go to somewhere like Upwork, where there’s no subscription, you can go somewhere like Fiverr, you can search our podcast experts, you can find loads of them, and literally they will do the whole thing for you.

[00:30:29] They’ll do the setup for you very inexpensively, um, and literally get you going and get you going from no podcast to podcast in a week, right? You don’t even need that long. It could be in a few days. You could be watching this video now. Get yourself inspired, get yourself motivated, choose yourself a name, choose yourself a topic, literally go, right, I’m going to do this.

[00:30:50] Oh my God, I’m going to actually do it. And then literally go on to Fiverr, find yourself a podcast freelancer. And by the end of the week, you’re on iTunes. You’ve got your own show. How incredible is that? You made a lot of progress in a short period of time. I’d encourage you to do that, right? Because we’ve seen so many, so many results for our clients as well.

[00:31:08] By the way, obviously I’ve used my podcast as an example. We’ve helped hundreds of people to set up podcasts. We’ve helped hundreds of people to build their brand doing this of our clients. You know, within our gold circle, we’ve probably got 60, 70 people that got their own shows running, creating really great results.

[00:31:24] And if they can do it, you can definitely do it too. So this is the fast. Easy per. Ellipsin or YouTube into a freelancer, get you going. Now, if you don’t want to do that, you don’t want to pay any money, you know, remember that you always pay with your money or you pay with your time. If you don’t want to pay with your money, then just do the research and just figure out how do you do the setup and go and watch a ton of videos on the setup and the intricacies of getting yourself set up and then you can rock and roll and you can get this out there too.

[00:31:54] But my advice would be, if you want to follow Success leaves clues, you know, pick audio only, get a freelancer, start recording, get yourself out there. Now, the final one on that would be kit. You know, what are you going to actually need to get yourself started and going? And I just want to keep this really simple.

[00:32:15] If you’re an advanced podcaster, obviously it’s a different conversation. But if you’re an early start podcaster, all you really need to do is get yourself a little mic. So the audio quality is good. You know, we recommend and have used for a long time, Rode, right? R O D E, and they’re a really good option for audio.

[00:32:34] They’re inexpensive. You can literally connect them up to whatever you’re using. And go and record audio straight away very, very quickly. Keep the kit simple, get yourself started. Where we start is not where we end. And that just gets you out there, gets you going, and then we can start cracking on and getting into the next stages.

[00:32:55] And if you’re really, really strapped and you’re not sure what to do, You know, and you don’t want to invest too much in it. You could just take your existing phone, go on to voice memos, be in a quiet room, and actually just record on that. Like, that’s how simple it is. You don’t need to go OTT here. And this is the thing, once you start monetizing, building relationships, you know, elevating your brand, then you can invest more in the kit.

[00:33:19] But the most important thing is to get started. Remember, this is step one, creation. Now let’s jump into step two, which is relation. So this really is that relationship capital that you are going to build from having your own podcast, which is going to be really, really cool. So look, Where you start is not where you end.

[00:33:42] If you remember, I go back and I told you about, you know, my first interview ever was that one with Leon and you can try and find that on the YouTube channel. It really, you can see me not smiling. You can see me not giving massive energy. You can see that right back at the beginning, many, many, many years ago.

[00:33:58] I then did Mick Hull as a good friend of mine, local business development manager. And these were guys that hadn’t done at that stage too much video. They hadn’t got themselves out there too much. And then I just started leveling up over time. And when I say leveling up, I don’t mean as people because they’re fantastic people.

[00:34:15] But I mean in the profile. Of the guest. So where do you start? You start within your immediate vicinity. You could invite someone, you know, fairly well from a local business near you to come and feature on your new podcast. You’ve just literally created it in the last stage. And now you go and you pick five people, you know, you say, podcast.

[00:34:37] I’d love to have you on my podcast and more than likely what you’re going to see is podcast open doors. Very rarely do people say no. In fact, yesterday I was talking to a really great guy, a friend of mine. His name is David. He’s been in the speaker industry for many, many, many years. He said, I’ve been so behind on this podcast stuff, but I’ve now created it.

[00:34:56] Adam, I’d love to have you on the podcast as a guest. I said, Yeah, of course, David, no problem at all. It was really simple, really straightforward. Um, that now he’s got that. In play, I’m gonna say yes. And many people will say yes to you too because he’s created that show. He is done. That first step nays into the second step.

[00:35:15] So start off locally and build up. You know, when I started off and I was doing, you know, uh, team members or people I knew, small businesses, small business owners, I was highlighting their businesses. I didn’t think fast forward three, four years, I’d have dragons, a billionaires. A list celebrities on my podcast, but that’s exactly what happened.

[00:35:35] You know, later on I got John Caldwell billionaire, I had Al Pacino, I had Anthony Joshua, I have your Floyd Mayweather, I got John Travolta, crazy. Never would have been able to get anywhere near these people, but what I did is I built it up step by step and you can do the same thing. The most important thing is to get started.

[00:35:52] So your next step after your creation is just go and find five local guests. You know, it doesn’t need to be anything too, too dramatic. You just go and find five people you can do your podcast with you, get them on. And then you’re all ready to launch when you do launch. Often you can see the advice is you should launch with a few episodes.

[00:36:13] And I agree with that. You don’t want to just launch to one episode, then make, make them way. You want to launch, we say five or 10 episodes. So you can get out there straight away. You’ve got a bit of a track record because the more episodes you have, the easier it is for you to actually get guests.

[00:36:29] Because if you take mine, for example, I’ve been running it for many, many, many years now, 420 episodes. We’ve obviously got a strong listener base. A lot of people that listen in that have done for a long time. And when I invite someone on that, they can just look and go, well, I’ve been doing it a long time.

[00:36:47] There’s 420 episodes. There’s really successful people have been on it. So when you’re at the beginning, you’re at a slight disadvantage. So that’s why I suggest you go out and you start racking up those guests because you want to get your first five on. You can ask those first five if they know some of the lights come on.

[00:37:02] Before you know it, you’ve got 25 episodes and you’re really starting to get going. And you can keep building on that and just keep building it up building it up building it up And then some of you’ll be like adam But the time it’s going to take is going to take me loads of time if you’re doing it audio only You can even do it over zoom if you can’t get over to them You don’t want to drive to them many episodes that i’ve done i’ve done over zoom That’s perfectly acceptable.

[00:37:27] Most of the episodes are due. You know, you’re looking at 30 minutes, 45 minutes, doing one of them a day. If you did one a day, by the end of the month, you’ve had 20 episodes, you know, and you’re done. You’ve got 20 episodes, which is great, and then you can start to really slow it down and just maybe do one a week before the end of the year.

[00:37:44] You’ve got 50 episodes, right? In a 52 week year, you’ve got 52. If you do one a week with a little bit of holiday in there, you get 50 50 episodes of your podcast. And what have you got out of that? You’ve got that bigger brand, you’re more well known, more people taking you seriously, but you’ve also sat down and built relationships with 50 people.

[00:38:04] And guess what? You know, you might be going, but Adam, what if I can’t get a guest? Well, if you don’t get a guest, it’s no problem either. I do something called BBE Weekly. We’re on my podcast every week. I just talk about what I’m doing in my business. Just go in and go into the podcast, get an audio mic, and I sit there and say, this is what I’ve been doing.

[00:38:22] This is what I’ve been up to. This is the business growth secret that I want to bring your attention to. And I just give the business growth secrets via that BBE Weekly. If you can’t get a guest, it’s no problem. Doesn’t matter too much, right? So first of all, start and get going. Secondly, it’s really helpful that when you have your guest, is to pick guests or make sure that you, if you’re doing it on your own, stick to the topic and stick to the theme.

[00:38:52] Very simple. If you call your podcast business growth secrets, when people come on it, guess what they’re expecting. They’re expecting business growth secrets. So you want to just keep your content that you create, that you put on the podcast, in a very simple way. You just want to make sure that you stick to the topic, And you stick to the theme.

[00:39:11] I think that’s really important because sometimes people go off in different directions. It’s much easier to just do one thing. Don’t get distracted. Stay focused. Invite people on that have got something to say on that topic and on that theme. If they haven’t, probably not the right person to be on.

[00:39:27] Hopefully that makes sense. Next part. In order to get this going and, you know, give you the best chance of success, what I always suggest you do is you do lots of promo and a great intro for anyone coming on your show. Sometimes people try to be selfish with their podcast. I think that’s counterproductive.

[00:39:47] What I mean by that is they try to be all controlling and like, oh, yeah, I don’t want you talking about this, and I don’t want you talking about that, and you can’t put your website on here, and you can’t say about your Instagram. And then what happens is really weird. So people come on the show, and they’re going, well, I’m spending time here, I want to talk about my, my product, or I want to talk about my service, and the guest doesn’t, and the show host doesn’t want you to do that.

[00:40:07] And all of a sudden you’re now in conflict. I never do that. I just come straight out of it and say, what do you want to promote? You’re here for a reason. Let’s promote you, you know, go to give and you surely will receive. And that’s my mentality. And that should be your mentality too. That you just go and say, how can I serve you?

[00:40:25] You’re spending time on my podcast. What can I talk about that would help you? What do you want to mention? Where can people find you? I want you to get value from this. And if you do that, It shows a lot of goodwill and it also makes it much easier for you to get guests in the future because people talk.

[00:40:44] So make sure you do a good promo for your guests and you do a really great intro for your guests as well. Step number four is there’s no point even having a guest on if you don’t attempt to build a relationship with them. So this is super important. Relationship capital in business is more important than financial capital.

[00:41:05] And I say to business owners all the time train thousands of business owners. I say to them all the time You should be spending 70 percent of your time building relationships Because if you spend time building relationships, it means you’re having more conversations. You’re making more offers You’re doing more sales.

[00:41:21] You’re doing more business and so many business owners don’t do that because they don’t know how to So one of the things you can use your podcast for is to build relationships with great people And And what you’ll find very quickly is people said to me all the time, I’ve had celebrities say, Hey, could you coach me?

[00:41:37] I’ve had people say, Oh, I really love what you did there. Would you be able to help me do this? And that happens all the time. You know, I’ve picked up some very high profile celebrity clients. That’s not why I do it. Certainly this stage because we’ve got many, many, many clients, many thousands of clients, but I still get people ask all the time.

[00:41:55] Could you help me with this? Could you help me with that? Could you help me on this type of training? That type of training? So you will pick up business from the relationships. But in addition to picking up business, you’ll also pick up ideas, knowledge, contacts, access, discovering different things all the way through.

[00:42:14] So really make a big attempt and really look at your podcast as your big relationship builder. It’s your way to get out to the world and build those relationships, which is super exciting. So I’d encourage you very much to do that. And your final step on your relation stage is to make sure that you ask those guests and the people that you bring on to recommend your next guest.

[00:42:39] guest. You know, somebody that is in podcasting, it’s quite a small world. They might have been on this podcast and that podcast. Usually they’ve been on, usually your one is not their first rodeo. So they’ve done tons before. So they know other podcast hosts, which could give you a chance to get in front of their audience.

[00:42:55] But they also know other guests and other people that are trying to get themselves out there. So literally you can turn one guest into two by literally just making sure you ask for recommendations of who else could they recommend that could be on the show. Now, if you follow those simple steps there on relation, you’ll make fast progress.

[00:43:13] And by now we’ve created, we’ve built relationships and we’re ready for the next step. So the next step is process. And I have found that training many, many, many, Thousands of business owners, entrepreneurs and podcasters that many people don’t have a process. And when they don’t have a process, they go into their podcast and they go into their business and they’re guessing.

[00:43:38] We want to get out of guessing and we want to follow a process. Now I’m going to share with you The process that I have used in multiple different areas within my business to be able to interview in a really compelling way. Now, bear in mind, I’ve interviewed A listers, I’ve interviewed celebrities, I’ve interviewed TV stars and business leaders, millionaires, billionaires, dragons, all sorts of different people.

[00:44:02] And I follow the same process every single time. It’s very simple. You can literally Cut, paste, deploy this process into your business, and I’m gonna walk you through it right now. So this could be super valuable for you, this process in terms of interviewing and building relationships. Now, if you’ve been on one of my trainings and you’ve spent time with me in person, Then you may have heard me talk about the origin story framework.

[00:44:31] Now this in essence is a piece of a story framework. We can go a lot deeper, but I want to introduce this to you now. So when you go and do your first podcast interview, you’re going to be absolutely golden. I’m going to walk you through those steps. If you want to be Professionally trained and we can train you in every different area of this then certainly get in touch You can go over to adamstock.

[00:44:56] com Leave your details I’ll get my team to have a conversation with you about how we can train you on the presenting skills that can take you all The way to the top in the meantime This is going to be your cheat sheet to fast results when you start those conversations so the first step is to It’s really simple.

[00:45:13] When you introduce your guest, or even if you have no guest, when you introduce yourself on the podcast, you start off with success. You talk about the cool stuff that this guest has done and you elevate them so they look amazing. Guess what? Now they love you, you love them, you’re all moving in the right direction.

[00:45:35] Alternatively, you’re introducing you for the first time, or you’re introducing you on the podcast on an audio, talk about the successes you’ve had this week, talk about the successes with the topic that you’re talking about, talk about the success that you’ve had with AI, whatever it is, even if it’s small, introduce it as success.

[00:45:53] Now this is super important because if you don’t, this is what you risk happening. This happens all the time. With presenters and people that are speaking where it’s on a podcast on stage or whatever is they don’t start off with success and it’s very droney it’s like yeah things are going like you know i’ve been doing this and this and it turns you go straight into the struggle and when you go straight into the struggle it just means that you know it’s down beat you want to start off upbeat so you really talk about the success and it’s exciting and it’s engaging and then you want to move down to What some of the struggles would be.

[00:46:32] So let’s run this in two ways. Let’s imagine that you’re bringing a guest on. You talk about that guest, their success, the great results that they’ve had. I mean, I just did a gold circle event. I had two great guests, Eamon Holmes, who’s been a TV broadcaster for 45 years. You know, when I brought him on, I’m going to talk about his success.

[00:46:51] He’s been doing this for 45 years. He has the Guinness World Record for longest serving TV presenter. And I’m really, really getting it hyped up. So the audience is going, wow, this is amazing. And then I’ll go into, but hey, Ayman hasn’t always been that way. Take us all the way back to the beginning where you started.

[00:47:11] And this is where we go into the struggle. Now, I also had Jordan Platten on who is a really great YouTuber should check him out. Good friend of mine as well. He came and you know, he did an amazing interview live on stage, did exactly the same thing, exactly the same thing. And in fact if you went back through my podcast and you look to my interviews on business growth secrets, you will see this pattern emerging.

[00:47:34] And like I said, You know, cut pace, deploy this in your business for the process. So we start with success. We move into struggle. And the reason this is important is if nobody talks about their struggle, which becomes very hard for you as the listener to actually resonate with the person you’re hearing from.

[00:47:51] So you want to make sure that you really resonate. You talk about the challenges, you talk about the fears, the issues, the things are experienced. So the audience listening can go, I’m just like that. I’ve experienced that as well. Which is super important. Once we’ve done the struggle, we move into, and, and how it is, it’s almost like reverse storytelling, right?

[00:48:11] Because you’ve got the success, this is where we are now, and then we go back into, this is where we were. We were struggling, we built skills to stop ourselves from struggling, When we built those skills, we got new results. And from those new results, we became a new character. That is the simple process for storytelling.

[00:48:40] And as I said, we can expand that more, but if you’ve got a guest on, that’s what you want to do. Introduce their success, take them back to the struggle. Talk about how they built the skills, talk about what results they got from building the skills and talk about the character that they became. And then what we want to finish on is what value can that they give your audience.

[00:49:02] So this is a storytelling framework, but we also want to say and at the end of my business grow secrets podcast, I always ask the question. Hey, Imagine that you’re a business owner sitting there. You’ve just listened to everything that we’ve gone over. What three big secrets would you give them to building a business or building a career, becoming more successful?

[00:49:20] So they’re going to add some value in 1, 2, 3. It doesn’t necessarily need to be 3. It could be 1. It could be something that relates to your audience that just delivers some value. So it’s very simple. And why do you want to process? The reason you want to process is because it just becomes rinse and repeat.

[00:49:38] You should do the same thing over and over and over again. You’ve got a different guest, you’ve got a different person coming in, but you’re doing the same thing, which makes it easy for you. And hey, do you want this to be easy for you? I’d imagine you do want it to be easy. So I would say use the process.

[00:49:51] So this leads us into step four, which is post. This is what happens after. It’s like we’ve done the podcast now, we’ve got the guest, we’ve gone and we’ve created it. We built the relationships, we’ve followed a process. We’re now gonna look after what happens next in terms of us Getting our message out there in terms of building relationships and so much more.

[00:50:11] And there’s just a few steps here. The first step is really making sure that we talk about the future with our guest that we’ve got coming on. So you really want to talk to them about, Hi. And keep them really up to date on what’s going to happen next. And this is twofold. So let’s talk about this with a guest and without a guest.

[00:50:32] With a guest, you say, fabulous. That’s our podcast done. It was absolutely amazing. Put this date in your diary. This is when we’re going to launch it. And what you can do then, is you can move into, The socials, you know, we’re going to tag you in. We’d like you to be a collaborator on Instagram. We’d like you to share this.

[00:50:52] Do you have an email list that you can put this out to? So you can really leverage the guests that you’ve had on. So that’s based off of you having a guest. Now, if you’re doing it on your own and you’re not using a guest, you talk about the future. In your podcast episode. Hey, we’ve got this coming up.

[00:51:08] We’ve got this next episode coming out in a few weeks time. And often as I’ve said to you throughout this video that you’ve been watching, if you want a part two and you want me to go deeper on a specific topic, then go and tell me in the comments, you know, and that way I can, you know, really tailor my content to you as to what you need as a viewer, as the watcher to try and add even more value to you.

[00:51:30] And that’s what you want to do. I’ve got no guests here. This is just me. And this is what you want to do. with your content as well so that you can engage with the listener. So perhaps you talk about part two, perhaps you talk about, you know, we’ve got this episode coming out, we’ve got this happening, maybe you talk about some of your previous episodes and you really are looking to the future to keep somebody listening and watching and viewing your content moving forwards.

[00:51:55] Now the second part of the future, which is super important, If you have a guest and this is what I do again, I’m just sharing with you what I’ve done and what I found from 400 plus podcast episodes is I always talk to the guests and I say to them, Hey, would you like to do a live event in the future?

[00:52:14] Hey, do you do, um, other different things other than just podcasting? And I have a conversation with them and I see what opportunities there are. Based off of that conversation, I think that’s really important. Many people miss this, but if you really explore opportunities with your guests, you can find some of the best things ever there.

[00:52:34] I remember when I did this with Sarah Willingham, I interviewed her on the podcast. I loved what she had to say. I said to her at the end, Hey, Sarah, do you do mentoring? And she was like, um, not really, you know, that’s not something I do. I’m on the board of Nectar and American Express and these different things.

[00:52:49] And I was like, well, I’d love to work with you. I’d love for you to coach me. Could we work something out from there? And then we ended up working something out. I’ve worked with her for many years since. But that was because at the end of the episode, I was looking to the future. And that manifests itself in many different ways.

[00:53:06] You need to look at the person in front of you. Can they help you? Can you help them? What could that future relationship look like with you? Is there ways that you can work together? Is there ways that you can promote together? And so much more. This is really important. Don’t miss this because this is what can make your podcast and absolute smash here.

[00:53:27] Now we’re getting to the second stage. That’s the socials. You just want to agree. Hey, this is going to go on your instagram. It’s going out on here. Can you share it? Do you have an email list? All these different types so you can get more exposure and you can get more listeners to your podcast. Same goes if you don’t have a guest and you’re doing it solo.

[00:53:45] You want to make sure every episode that you do it. You’ve got a little plan there for, you know, the, the reels that you’re going to release, the content you’re going to release, your umbrella content that we talked about earlier on. You want to know that, hey, these are really good clips, you know, and you can get those out to market.

[00:54:02] So to promote your episode. So whether you are doing a guest or without a guest, this is an important part. Now, the third part. Which is super important is to follow up. Now I’ve said that you talk about the future care, but the future without a follow up is a wasted. So make sure that when you decide that you’re going to launch this out, go and message that person on Instagram.

[00:54:25] Tell them it’s launching. Say thank you to you. Say to them, I really enjoyed having you on and build that relationship, which is really important. It’s a great thing for you to do. So make sure that you do have the followup process in place because followups are what builds relationships. Finally, you just want to look at what is the long term.

[00:54:45] Of your podcast, where do you want to take it? How do you want to expand it? Do you eventually then want to put it onto youtube as well? Do you want to start to do more video? Do you want to keep it audio only? How are you going to get bigger profile guests get more people to promote your show? Get that show more out there.

[00:55:05] And also you want to consider things like CTAs, which is calls to action. How do you want to call people to action? How do you want to move them towards your products or services? Do you want to give something away for free? Do you want to gauge them in a different way? So you can keep building the podcast, but getting leads from it too.

[00:55:23] Because essentially, We want to do everything we’ve done. We want to build the brand, but eventually we want to monetize this podcast as well. So you can make money, you can make income, you can get leads and you can get more growth for the long term. Another great example is that eventually you might want to outsource somebody going to find those guests for you.

[00:55:44] We have a PR company do that now, but in the beginning we didn’t. And it’s the same with you as you grow. And as you build, You can look at the long term gains that you’ve created. That then means that we have done all four. We’ve gone and focused on creation, which is awesome because it means that you have got started and that’s what you got to do.

[00:56:07] And if you haven’t started yet, this is super important that you get started. You know, you’ve watched all the way through. You’re here for a reason. Tell us in the comments if you are, and if you watch this far, I would call you an A player. Now, what does an A player mean? An A player is somebody that stays in, goes all in, gets stuff done.

[00:56:30] And if you are an A player, put A player in the comments so I can see who’s listened to this all the way through. And remember, If you are an A player and you’ve listened this far throughout, you can actually save this video. If you’re on premium, you can go and save this and you can come back to it at any point.

[00:56:50] I don’t want you to get super excited. Want to go and start your podcast, not be able to come back to it and lose it. So make sure you actually save it, go and comment and tell us your A player in the comments as well. Especially if you’re going to get started, you’re going to go and create. Now, secondly, we’ve got.

[00:57:05] The relation. So we’ve given you a clear indication of how do you go and start relationships, build relationship capital, get that working. We’ve nailed that too, which is awesome. You’ve got the process. Believe me, that process has been used to do over 400 interviews. And we went through that quite quickly, but the info is there to be able to use that process to get yourself out there and, you know, really start conducting awesome interviews.

[00:57:31] And then you’ve got the post steps of well, that you need to take. So you are fully equipped with those four steps that you need to get yourself going, get yourself started, and start making things happen. And look, you know, I’m really encouraged if you are that A player that’s watched all the way through.
