Adam Stott:

[00:00:00] Adam Stott: Hey, everybody. I’m here with one of our great clients, Hannah Longstaff. Really, really excited to have a great chat with her about her business. She’s been a Gold Circle member of ours, working really closely, making some really good progress in terms of building a business. She’s come along to be done for you, Branded Retreat.

[00:00:19] Spent three, four days with myself, Ross, and the whole team and, you know, really seeing her coming out of herself, building new beliefs, building new confidence, as well as Doing some very, very exciting things with her business. Her business is one that we’re really behind, we’re really enthusiastic because we know it helps a lot of people and makes a great impact on people.

[00:00:41] So anybody you know that might need help around this subject, certainly be reaching out to Hannah and stay tuned for this amazing story because, uh, I really feel this is something that a lot of people could benefit from. Uh, she has entered, uh, the awards that we’ve been doing at the Branded California Retreat.

[00:01:00] And the award that she has won is to the best new service and the service that she’s got is incredible. It helps a lot of people. It’s well deserved. And I’m really pleased to have you here, Hannah. So First and foremost, welcome. How are you feeling? How are you

[00:01:14] Hannah Longstaff: doing? You good? Yeah, I’m really good, thank you.

[00:01:16] Really thrilled to be here. And how

[00:01:18] Adam Stott: do you feel right now? You’ve had some great Oh,

[00:01:20] Hannah Longstaff: it’s amazing! Yeah. Yeah, it’s nice to get a bit of acknowledgement for the work I’ve put in. Yeah. And, um, and it’s amazing being in this crowd of people, positive people. So, I loved it.

[00:01:29] Adam Stott: Some amazing people here, right?

[00:01:31] Hannah Longstaff: There are.

[00:01:31] They really, really

[00:01:32] Adam Stott: are. So, for sure. So, look, um, you know, your business, you’ve been, you’ve been running now for quite some time. Do you want to tell us a bit about your business so people can understand what it is you do and how you help people?

[00:01:42] Hannah Longstaff: Yeah, okay. So, my business is basically, um, I help people, high performers mainly, get through the binge eating trap.

[00:01:51] So, my methods are simple, they’re fast, and they’re effective. And quite simply, I can transform lives.

[00:01:59] Adam Stott: So, through binge eating and, and helping people with this subject is obviously something that a lot of people potentially suffer from out there. What are some of the symptoms that people can be aware of if they might have a problem?

[00:02:13] Just so they can understand a little bit

[00:02:15] Hannah Longstaff: about that. Well, I think the most common one, which 90 percent of my clients have is end of a long day, tired, get home, can’t be bothered to cook. Maybe there’s no one to cook with or eat with and they just grab what they fancy and don’t stop, basically. You know, what’s

[00:02:34] Adam Stott: there?

[00:02:35] That’s an easy habit to fall

[00:02:36] Hannah Longstaff: into, right? Yeah, it’s very easy. It’s very easy. And it’s normally not nutritious food either. You know, it’s normally junk food or, you know, easy access food, ready meals. You know, it’s just And what’s some

[00:02:50] Adam Stott: of the impacts of that? How does that affect people, do you feel like?

[00:02:52] Hannah Longstaff: Well, I know how it affects people because I was stuck in the cycle for over 30 years and, um, it impacted every area of my life. My whole day were, I lost focus because, um, my main focus was what was my next meal going to be or not going to be. So if I’d had a big binge the night before, I probably would try not to eat the next day.

[00:03:16] And you just get into this massive downward spiral. It affects relationships, it affects everything. Yeah, it affects your body, it affects your health. Yeah, and completely, completely miserable with it as well. Outside you look great, inside you’re a mess. But only you know, because it’s a little secret.

[00:03:34] Adam Stott: And that’s so difficult, isn’t it?

[00:03:36] And a lot of people suffer from it. And I know that you’ve been working really hard to help people on this journey. When you, you obviously went through those struggles yourself, so you understand it really in depth and really well. What were some of the things that, and some of the skills that you built to come out of that cycle, and do

[00:03:52] Hannah Longstaff: things differently?

[00:03:53] I realised on the eve of my 50th birthday, quite a while ago now, um, I realised something had to change, because I was still there. I wasn’t happy. If I’d been happy, everything would have been fine, but no, life was not good. And I was about to turn 50, and I wasn’t looking forward to the future. And I realized, I’d got to the stage where I realized, food’s not the issue, it’s in your head.

[00:04:17] And you’ve got to change your thinking. And that’s when I started my personal development journey. And believe me, I’ve trained with some of the most amazing coaches. Um, I’ve spent thousands, tens of thousands of pounds. Um, I’ve studied nutrition, I’ve studied coaching at the top level. I, I’ve studied all the people that are in the field.

[00:04:44] And, um, taking the best practices. But it’s Marissa Peer, driving Marissa Peer around in LA. In 2013. to different meetings as she was looking for backers for her RTT school. It’s when I was speaking to her that she made it so simple and brought it down to basics and said there are only three causes for every problem.

[00:05:06] And that’s when I realized there’s possibly a simple solution. And it’s from there that I actually have developed the MFB program. And, um, to help people. Because it’s so easy! When you know how. And when you’re stuck in the trap, you

[00:05:25] can’t

[00:05:25] Adam Stott: see it. It’s the old adage of you don’t know what you don’t know, right?

[00:05:26] Yeah. Yes. Which has meant many people. Yeah. And you started working with us to build the business. And you’ve been a part of what we do in Gold Circle. Uh, met lots of people, had great experiences. And you’re here with us now at the Retreat. In terms of you changing and and the impact that’s had on you. Is there a member of the team, or something the team said, or has there been a moment, a tweak, something that you feel has really made a difference in terms of you getting

[00:05:50] Hannah Longstaff: that business on track?

[00:05:53] Yeah, um, I needed help in all areas of business. I had no idea how to run a business. You know, I could do, I knew, thought I knew what the basics were, but it’s obvious. That I couldn’t do it. I already had my training program. I just didn’t know how to get it to market. And I’ve gotta say, I think the most impactful person, apart from yourself of course, is um, Ross Temple.

[00:06:18] Yeah. Um, and the fact he believed in it, he could. And you can see, well, I can’t see. It’s the same thing. It’s exactly the same thing. And I try and do everything myself. I come from an engineering background. So I like to go to the end and try and work things. Solve problems. I’m a problem solver. You know, but I sometimes do it the long winded way.

[00:06:44] And this is just a shortcut. But not just that. It gives you opportunities. The opportunities I’ve found here, I’ve never been published, you know, by four publishers. You know, without your help, you know, I wouldn’t have had the fun doing it. I wouldn’t have had the training. Oh my god! So, you know, um, I wouldn’t have known The bits I needed to actually create a business, a viable business.

[00:07:14] It would have been a hobby business You know, might have grown in 20 years time. We

[00:07:19] Adam Stott: see your potential, right? We see you can go really, really far. I know you will when you help a lot of people. So we are proud to be a part of that journey. In terms of yourself, in terms of going into this, starting a business, not be watching that perhaps are starting a business, they’re experiencing similar fears, what were some of your fears that you used to have that you feel you’ve overcome?

[00:07:39] Hannah Longstaff: Oh, um, I think I had every fair fear going and fear of failure is what I think my massive one was. It could be fear of success. But I’ve always thought it, a massive fear of failure. Um, that’s probably the biggest one, and it stops me. Because if you don’t do anything, you don’t fail. You know, but then, you know, I hate that.

[00:08:04] Um, other fears. The fear, I wouldn’t be able to find clients. That was probably my biggest one. Because you can invest in everything, but will, will you find clients? Um, And how do you market yourself? How do, you know, I, there was so much I didn’t know. But I think the biggest thing is getting over yourself.

[00:08:25] My biggest obstacle to actually going to market is me. Without a doubt. And um, that comes down to fear. Yeah.

[00:08:33] Adam Stott: Yeah. And how do you feel now with that, some of that fear being relieved? Are you excited for the future?

[00:08:39] Hannah Longstaff: You know, I’m really excited. I know I can help so many people. And when it gets really tough, that’s what drives me forward.

[00:08:48] And I’ve had tough moments. Believe me, I thought, God, it’d be easier to quit. You know, but, um, I, um, I know I can help a lot of people. People need this. You know, in every big corporation, they’ve got hundreds of employees struggling. with their weight, and they look at the wrong places for a leaf. This is the problem.

[00:09:11] Gotta get to the source and just turn it

[00:09:13] Adam Stott: around. Yeah, absolutely. And look, you know, for someone who will watch in, and there’ll be many, many people watching now that know someone that perhaps is struggling with food, struggling with weight, struggling with their psychology and mindset towards food, which is a big part of what you do, where could those people get in touch with you to try and help them out?

[00:09:31] Hannah Longstaff: Well, the best place to get in touch with me would be LinkedIn. And it’s Hannah with an H on the end, long stuff, and um, send me a message.

[00:09:41] Adam Stott: Yeah, go and connect with, go and connect with Hannah, she’d love to help you. You know, we can, we would certainly say that she’s a great person that cares about her clients and wants to do a great job.

[00:09:51] Plus you’re a lot of fun Hannah, you’ve always been super, super fun at every single event we’ve had. And we love you being a part of Gold Circle, we love you being a part of the team. Branding Retreat. It’s been amazing. What would you say about the Branding Retreat now? You’ve been, we’re on the third day.

[00:10:05] What’s it been like? Try and, try and explain it to someone who’s never been. And what this might actually impact them. How would you explain this? It’s hard to explain because we’ve done so much, right? Yep, we’ve done

[00:10:16] Hannah Longstaff: so much. Um, it’s way exceeded my expectations. Um, I’m now there on the world stage, for goodness sake.

[00:10:24] I’ve been on your podcast. And, um, yeah, I’m so excited about what it, you know, the exposure, not just I’ve had, but nearly everyone in that room has had, and we’ve had so much fun with it as well.

[00:10:39] Adam Stott: It’s crazy that we’ve all been in the room. Yeah. I think we’re only two days in and we’ve got, I think we’re on like our 30th.

[00:10:46] Published article. Yeah. Uh, we’ve got people in Business Insider, we’ve got people in the London Press and Manchester, but all over, you know? Mm-Hmm. . And, and you’ve had four articles, I, I believe, uh, three to four articles published about you, uh, bringing you the exposure that I really feel you deserve.

[00:11:03] ’cause I know that you can help a lot of people, so we’d be really proud to play a part in that journey. So, look, well done for being here. Uh, thanks again. I look forward to seeing you just continue to grow and succeed. You know, we’re really proud of you and I want to say a big for being here.

[00:11:16] Hannah Longstaff: Thank you.

[00:11:17] Thanks for having me. Thank you so much. Good.
